Where are you thinking?

Here's a quick rundown of each region — what it's like, when to go, and what kind of traveller tends to love it most.

Europe

Europe is one of those places that works for almost any kind of trip. The train network alone makes it easy to move between cities without the hassle of airports. Spring and autumn are genuinely the sweet spot — decent weather, fewer crowds, and you can usually book last-minute. Summer gets busy and pricey, but it's hard to beat for the coast and outdoor festivals.

  • Western Europe: city breaks, world-class food, and enough art to last a lifetime.
  • Mediterranean: long evenings, good wine, and beaches that don't require a 6am alarm to enjoy.
  • Nordic routes: midnight sun in summer, proper winter landscapes, and cities that are surprisingly easy to get around.

Asia

Asia can feel overwhelming to plan, mainly because it's so varied. Visa rules and entry requirements differ a lot between countries, so it's worth sorting that out early rather than leaving it to the week before. Once you're there though, it's one of the most rewarding regions to travel — the food alone is worth the trip.

  • City hubs: street food at midnight, rooftop bars, markets that run all day — cities here move fast and there's always something happening.
  • Nature: island hopping, jungle treks, and wildlife that you won't see anywhere else.
  • Culture: temples and festivals that are genuinely unlike anything in the West — just be mindful of local customs when you visit religious sites.

The Americas

The Americas are big — really big. The distances can catch people off guard, so it's worth being realistic about how much ground you can cover. That said, a well-planned road trip or a mix of flights and city stops can be one of the best travel experiences out there.

  • North America: national parks that genuinely take your breath away, plus cities with very different personalities from each other.
  • Central America: volcanoes, rainforest, and the kind of coastline that makes you want to stay longer than planned.
  • South America: Patagonia, the Andes, the Amazon — and capital cities with serious food and nightlife scenes.
